Nelu Ploiesteanu

Nelu Ploiesteanu este un celebru cantaret de muzica lautareasca, un tribun al genului, reusind sa o faca celebra in toata lumea.

Nelu Ploiesteanu si-a inceput cariera la 18 ani, in satul sau natal, unde a invatat sa cante la pian si acordeon. In 1970 s-a mutat la Bucuresti unde a cantat timp de 6 luni alaturi de Teatrul Ion Vasilescu. In stil caracteristic lautaresc, si-a continuat cariera cantand in restaurante ca Bulevard, Caraiman, Doina, Crama Domneasca si Caru’ cu Bere. In anul 1979 a plecat in primul sau turneu international, ce a fost urmat de multe altele.

Nelu Ploiesteanu a lansat peste 18 albume. Intre anii 1990 si 1998 a cantat in celebrul restaurant Sarpele Rosu, loc in care i-a cunoscut pe doi dintre cei mai apreciati actori romani, Stefan Iordache si Gheorghe Dinica. Cei trei au inregistrat impreuna 2 albume cu muzica veche de petrecere.
Nelu Ploiesteanu este o figura emblematica a muzicii Romanesti, reusind sa pastreze vie traditia folclorului de petrecere.

Nelu Ploiesteanu has been working since he was 18 years old and started his singing career in his home village. He learned to play piano and accordion. In 1970 he moved to Bucharest where he sang for 6 months with the Ion Vasilescu Theatre.

He then continued his career, singing in famous restaurants such as Bulevard, Caraiman Doina, Crama Domneasca and Caru’ cu bere. In 1979 he had his first international tour, only to be followed by many more. He released over 18 albums. Between 1990 and 1998 he sang in a famous restaurant, The Red Snake, where he met two great actors, Stefan Iordache and Gheorghe Dinica. They all recorded 2 albums with old Romanian party songs.

Nelu Ploiesteanu is an emblematic figure for the Romanian music, keeping the tradition of party folklore alive over the years.
