Radu Ile

Botezat dupa celebrul cantec popular ‘Radu Mamii’, Radu Ille si-a indeplinit ursitul, impunand un stil aparte in muzica romaneasca – un cant traditional sustinut de ritmuri moderne, dar cu adanci radacini in folclor.

Drumul spre implinirea lui Radu a pornit in anul 1994 din Valea Jiului. Cinci ani mai tarziu, artistul a luat hotararea de a parasi tinuturile natale, pastrandu-le in inima traditiile, dorurile si odorurile.

Una dintre etapele incipiente ale carierei sale a fost apartenenta la trupa ETNO (2000-2002). Odata cu parasirea trupei, Radu a lansat primul sau album solo, intitulat ‘S-am Sa Cant’, melodia ce a dat numele materialului reprezentand un adevarat crez pentru artist. Au urmat cinci albume de succes si trei re-editari, toate in stitul impus de Radu ce contine prelucrari ale unor piese cunoscute si indragite din folclorul romanesc si compozitii proprii. Albumele sale sunt: ‘Au..Mandruta Draga’ (2003), ‘Io mi-s Radu din Portita’ (2004), ‘Colinda-mi Doamne’ (Culegere de colinde Ardelenesti, 2004), ‘Lumeee!!!’ (Best of, 2005), ‘La multi Ani !!!’ (Colaborare cu intreaga familie Ille, 2006) si ‘Ninuta si Raducu’meu’ (2010).

Artist desavarsit, compozitor si cantaret, Radu Ille aduce o aroma aparte melodiilor traditionale romanesti de peste 10 ani, marcand folclorul national pentru totdeauna.

Radu Ille, whose name is inspired by a famous folkloric song, “Radu Mamii”, fulfilled his destiny as he is now one of the most important figures of the musical genre in Romania, having imposed an innovative style that combines traditional music with modern rithms.

His career path began in 1994 in Valea Jiului. Five years later, the artist decided to leave his native grounds but never to forget its traditions and his love and longing for them.

At the starting of his career, he was part of an eclectic band called Etno (2000-2002). After leaving the band, Radu released his first solo album, ‘S-am Sa Cant’ (And I Will Sing), that represents a true creed for this passionate singer’s career. Five albums and three re-publishings followed, all of them reflecting his unmistakeble style that blends re-mastered traditional Romanian music with original compositions. His albums are: ‘Au..Mandruta Draga’ (2003), ‘Io mi-s Radu din Portita’ (2004), ‘Colinda-mi Doamne’ (Carol collection, 2004), ‘Lumeee!!!’ (Best of, 2005), ‘La multi Ani !!!’ (a collaboration with all of his family, 2006) and ‘Ninuta si Raducu’meu’ (album named after his wife and son, 2010).

An accomplished artist, composer and singer, Radu Ille has brought a special, eclectic flavour to traditional Romanian songs for over 10 years, thus contributing to the Romanian folklore.
